Your Union Health Benefits are managed by the DC 37 Health & Security Plan. To get the most out of your benefits, ensure you are enrolled and that your information is up-to-date.
The Traditional Health Plan is Managed by the MTA. In regards to this plan, most members are under NYCE PPO but that doesn't necessarily mean that this plan is the right choice for you and your family.
NYCE PPO Appeals can be filed electronically. If your electronic appeals are denied you can file through the postal mail

Be sure to include the cover page form NYCE PPO Plan Post-Service Appeal Request Form if mailing your appeal.
Additionally since the traditional healthcare plan is manage by the MTA in addition to speaking to the plan via telephone, online chat, electronic and postal appeals you may contact the Business Service Center and cc: Diana Henderson Senior Operations Analyst / Benefits Operations. The BSC is actually quite helpful and even after all the above mentioned steps were taken the BSC was able to get NYCE PPO to go through dispute resolution ("Clear Health") for one of our Board Members to cancel medical debt.

This reference summarizes recommended preventive care milestones, screenings, and immunizations. Use this schedule to coordinate annual wellness visits and preventive screenings covered under your NYC employee health benefit plans.
